- Team Morale is so important!
As producers, we need to worry more than the team's performance. We need to foster a trusting working environment and make our team members feel they belong to the team.
- Producers should be the last person to panic.
When a crisis happens, the producer is crucial in giving the team directions. And if producers also panic, the team will be even more panicked. The crisis will not be solved, and producers' credibility will be damaged.
- Don't promise things you can't do, and don't break your promises.
When others bring you a need you cannot help, we should tell them we can't do it with solid reasons. When we said we would do something, we'd better do it.
- Deal with opposite feedback.
People feel differently about the same behavior we did. We should always focus on what our behavior led to. If it is good for the team and outcome, we should just stick to it.
- Cheer up!
There will be some milestones we could do better, frustrations, and dramatic things between people. Producers were exposed to all of them and could not run away. Always remember why we are here and doing this job when it happens. And when the team does a good job, celebrate with them.
